At the end of November 2012 in Moscow, the international conference organized by the Russian North-West Meat Association for the representatives of associations and unions of meat from other countries. The conference was attended by over 50 delegates from Austria, Germany, Netherlands, UK, France, Italy, Australia, Ireland, Lithuania, Romania, and the official representatives of Russian and foreign veterinary services.
Russia remains one of the largest importers of meat in the world. Thus, over the past year in Russia was delivered about 1,200 thousand tons of pork, pork offals and fat, more than 800 thousand tons of beef and beef offals and more than 500 thousand tons of poultry meat.
Foreign companies, suppliers often face difficulties in the supply of raw meat to Russia related to the rather strict veterinary requirements apply to meat products. Therefore, one of the leading Russian Meat Association organized a conference at which the specialists of the Russian Veterinary Service Association and experts told the audience about the features of the requirements for the Russian supplier of meat to Russia.
Specialists of Russia's state veterinary service told the participants of the interaction Rosselkhoznadzor veterinary services of other countries, in the light of Russia's accession to the WTO, as well as arrangements for inspection companies of foreign countries to fulfill the animal health requirements and regulations of the Customs Union and Russia. Were investigated in detail methods of control of food safety and inspection of foreign enterprises to perform animal health requirements and standards used in Russia and the Customs Union.

Gosschalk & Zoon BV. Experts of these companies appreciated the usefulness of such measures. This format allows vendors to interact better understand the requirements of the importing country and to avoid economic and reputational losses in the trading process.
