In the period from 16 to 18 January 2013 in Berlin (Germany), executive director of the North-West Meat Association Dmitry Pozdnjakov visited the largest international agricultural exhibition "Green Week."
The event, held meetings with the leadership of Dmitry Pozdnyakov European meat unions and associations in Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Lithuania and Italy, which summed up the work in 2012 and discussed issues of further cooperation.
During the official part of the event Dmitry Pozdnjakov participated in a number of bilateral meetings between the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the European Union.
In particular, Jan. 17, 2013 a joint meeting of the round table with participation of Rosselkhoznadzor European veterinary services, as well as representatives of major industry associations of European countries. Representatives of Russian and foreign business circles, participating in the round table expressed their willingness to solve problems together with the national veterinary services of their countries. The head of the Russian North-West Meat Association Dmitriy Pozdnyakov noted that the main objective of business associations is to improve the safety of meat products supplied to the Russian market. Creating a system of cooperation between national business associations and the state can not only promptly solve problems, but also creates the conditions for the introduction of a new model of efficient production and pre-export controls under surveillance products for the market of Russia and other countries of the Customs Union.
In the framework of a bilateral meeting between the Secretary-General of the European Union's trade live animals and meat (UECBV) Jean Luc Mérieux and Dmitriy Pozdnyakov discussed prospects of development of trade and economic relations between the EU and Russia in matters of supply of animal products from the EU to Russia, and the development of export of Russian products on the European market. Mr. Mérieux assured that UECBV ready to assist in the development of export of Russian goods to the European Union.
